What is Cystic Acne?

Cystic acne is acne that is under the skins surface. The pimple forms beneath the skin, where it continues to build and get worse. It is usually very painful. This type of acne doesn’t come to the surface like other acne. It is embedded deep in the skin tissue. Popping this acne, or trying to I should say, can have very adverse affects, including acne scarring. So popping it is out of the question. Some even believe that it may be hereditary. So ask you parents sometime.

How long does Cystic Acne last?

While most kinds of acne can go away  fast, this isn’t one of those kings. Cystic acne can last for weeks to months, and while there is a chance it could go away fast it is not likely. With the right treatments, and skin care routine, I am sure it will only have to be weeks instead of months.

While 70 out of 1000 people get acne, only about 2 out of 1000 get cystic acne. This number was reported by the cdc.

OK so now the real question is, what can we do?

I have an idea, in fact, I have 3. So let’s get going

3 Mind Blowing Cystic Acne Treatment Methods

1. Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple cider vinegar is one of those things most people have on hand, and never realize how much it can do. Apple cider vinegar has been used to treat cystic acne for a long time. It’s an astringent, helping reduce pain and inflammation. The ACV eliminates the extra oil to improve the skin and reduce acne, cleansing and helping the skin become healthier in the process.

Side note: 1 to 2 teaspoons a day can help you lose weight.

How to do it:

This calls for raw unfiltered apple cider vinegar. If you don’t have this, then use the regular ACV that you do have. If it doesn’t have the effect you need, then switch to the raw stuff

  1. A 1 to 1 ratio of ACV and water need to mixed. Use a cotton ball or swab to apply the solution to your acne, directly on the affected area.
  2. Let the mixture work for between 10 to 15 minutes
  3. Rinse the mixture off with warm water and pat dry, rubbing your face with the towel could cause more irritation.
  4. Repeat 2 times a day for a week or until it deminishes.

You may also leave a little on overnight for problem areas.

2. Baking Soda

Baking soda has antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties making it a great addition to this list. Baking soda has the power to extract oil from pores that are clogged. Baking soda also has the ability to change the pH level of your skin to healthier levels, leaving it shining and vibrant. All of this and it can scrub out dead skin in your pores too.

  1. Take 1 tsp of baking soda and slowly add water while mixing till you get a smooth paste.
  2. Put it directly on your skin over affected areas.
  3. DO NOT let it sit for more then a few minutes, then rinse it off.
  4. Repeat every other day for one week, then twice a week.

Side Note:

The reason you can’t leave this paste on your skin for very long is because it dries the skin very quickly. Whenever you do this you need to moisturize as soon as you are done.

3. Aloe Vera

Aloe is becoming widely known as a cure to a lot of things, including the infamous sun burn. What most people don’t know however, is how well Aloe vera works on acne. Aloe Vera is a great thing for pain, or pain management.  Like most of the items on my list, it is an anti-inflammatory.

How to use it:

  1. Find a fresh aloe plant hopefully you have one, or I guess use the bottle of aloe you already have.
  2. Gently rub the aloe all over the affected area for a few minutes.
  3. Rinse off with warm water and pat dry.
